Ecumenical girls are champs

The Stann Creek Ecumenical Junior College won their first ever Association of Tertiary Level Institutions of Belize (ATLIB) basketball championship, blowing away the University of Belize girls 30-5 in finals at the San Pedro Junior College on la Isla Bonita on Sunday.
Ecumenical led from the get go as they were up a comfortable 20-1 at the half. Ethel Martinez led with 13 points and Jacklaine Arzu added 5pts.
In the 2nd half, Ecumenical scored 10 more points to take the victory at the buzzer. UB only managed to score 5 points, with Ashley Elrington’s 3pts and Ireice Reyes’ single bucket in the second half.
In Game 3, the SJCJC girls won 34-5 over Belize Adventist Junior College.
